UROP is also proud to provide opportunities for students to get involved with implementing program operations and services. From participating on the UROP Ambassadors, UROP Student Editorial Board, UROP Volunteers, or simply working at the UROP Office, students develop a strong sense of ownership and commitment to enhancing the undergraduate research culture at UCI, in addition to developing their own skills. Students interested in these positions need to demonstrate strong interest and advocacy for undergraduate research or creative activities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, outstanding work ethics, and overall commitment to excellence. They are the catalysts that will further energize the undergraduate research culture at UCI. 
  
  
UROP Student Employees
  
UCI undergraduates also have the opportunity to be employed at UROP and assist with advising or other administrative duties. You need to be available for at least ten hours a week. Pay rate varies depending on qualifications and experience.

UROP Volunteers
  
UROP offers all undergraduates the opportunity to volunteer and contribute to the success of the program. Students can be involved in a variety of support activities for the program including publicity, research, office support, outreach, and Symposium preparation. 
  
Eligible students may receive 1.3 units of credit through a University Studies course for their involvement with UROP. The course requires 30 documented hours and a five-page paper reflecting on the experience. Students who participate will gain valuable knowledge in a dynamic and growing area of undergraduate education.

UROP Ambassadors

As a UROP Ambassador, you promote a culture of undergraduate research in all disciplines, expand the awareness of UROP among undergraduates, provide peer support and assistance to undergraduates, and develop communication and leadership skills. You are expected to work an average of six hours per week. The duration of your appointment is for one year, renewable upon excellent performance. You will receive a stipend as a small token of appreciation.

As a member of the Board, you take part in the evaluation, editing, and publication processes of The UCI Undergraduate Research Journal. Students are selected based on their research experience, editing and writing skills, in addition to qualities we seek in every student. You are expected to spend an average of six hours per week working on the Journal. The duration of your appointment is for one year, renewable upon excellent performance. You will receive a stipend as a small token of appreciation.
