Subject: Call for Papers - The UCI Undergraduate Research Journal
We are proud to announce the Call for Papers for the Sixth Annual
UCI Undergraduate Research Journal. The Journal publishes
a compilation of exceptional research papers submitted by UCI
students. Established to recognize the research achievements of
UCI undergraduates, the Journal provides students with
an opportunity to share their research with the University and
larger community. It also showcases the high-caliber research being
conducted at UCI in all schools and disciplines and reflects
University's dedication to undergraduate research. We invite you
to review previous volumes of the Journal on the Undergraduate
Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Web site: www.urop.uci.edu/journal.html.
Undergraduate students who have completed a research project between
the Spring Quarter of 2002 and June 6, 2003 are eligible to submit
work for publication in the 2003 Journal. Manuscripts must
be typed and double-spaced and may be up to 25 pages in length,
including any relevant graphics. The manuscript should be submitted
with all supplemental application materials and forms. The deadline
for manuscript submission is Monday, June 30, 2003.
After submission, the UROP Student Editorial Board, comprised of
undergraduates from all disciplines, will provide an initial review
of the papers. Guided by this review, the UROP Faculty Advisory
Board will select the papers to be published in the Journal.
We ask that you encourage students who are completing research
under your supervision to submit their work. Application packets
are available in the UROP Office: Student Services II, Suite 2300.
We thank you in advance for your time and assistance and hope
that you share our interest in strengthening UCI's commitment
research, and faculty/student interaction. The Journal is
sponsored by UROP in the Division of Undergraduate Education.
