About the STEM Summer Bridge Program

Program

The STEM Summer Bridge Program provides a unique eight-week summer research opportunity for community college students to become fully immersed in cutting-edge science, engineering and mathematics research at UCI.

Purpose

The program is designed to help students fully develop the knowledge and skills that will propel them into graduate studies or careers in science, engineering and mathematics. Students also receive ongoing support after the program to help them pursue their research and career goals further.

What to Expect

Participants have the opportunity to choose from a variety of challenging and original research projects. Under the guidance of a UCI faculty mentor, students gain first-hand experience and training in state-of-the-art research facilities. Seminars and research-related activities provide opportunities to build knowledge about science, engineering and mathematics applications. At the conclusion of the program, students present their findings at the STEM Summer Bridge Program Research Symposium.
