You are cordially invited to join us at the Tenth Annual UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium on Saturday, May 10, 2003 in the UCI Student Center. This year's theme, "Research & Policy: Facts or Interpretation," reflects UC Irvine's commitment to promoting an interdisciplinary approach to research and analysis, both within and beyond the academy. We are honored to announce that this year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Elizabeth Loftus, Distinguished Professor of Social Ecology.
This stimulating day-long event provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students, UCI faculty and staff, parents, alumni, members of the media and the outside community to actively participate in communicating about research and creative activities in all academic fields. The Symposium gives students a rich experience in the presentation aspect of the research process through their oral and/or poster presentations and discussions.
We ask you to encourage participation by interested students who are currently involved in research, or by students who would like to learn about the work of their fellow undergraduates. The Application and Abstract Submission Packets are now available at the UROP Office. The deadline for submission is 5:00 PM, MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2003. If you are interested in attending or participating as a panel moderator, or if you know any students who might be interested in presenting, attending, or volunteering to help with the Symposium, please contact us at the:
Opportunities Program (UROP)
