2010 Symposium

Welcome to the Presentation & Abstract Submission Page for the 2010 UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium!

Undergraduate students who wish to present their faculty-mentored research or scholarly/creative activity at the Symposium must complete the Presentation & Abstract Submission Form no later than Monday, April 12, 2010.

Here is an outline of the information requested on the form:

  • On the form, submitters indicate the number of student presenters and the number of faculty mentors associated with their project and presentation. Submitters provide information on themselves, their mentor(s), and other undergraduate presenters, if applicable. Please note that in the case of group presentations, only one submission per project is needed.

  • Next, student presenters upload/attach an electronic version of their project’s abstract.  In the heading of the abstract, please include any additional undergraduate co-authors who are not presenting at the Symposium.  For more details on how to prepare an abstract, please review the Abstract Guidelines.  They also indicate whether their faculty mentor(s) have reviewed and approved the abstract. 

  • Submitters then enter the details of their presentation, including the title, whether it’s an oral or poster presentation, the area of research, and the equipment they need for their presentation.

A confirmation via e-mail is sent to the student presenter(s) and faculty mentor(s) once the submission has been received. This confirmation includes a code that allows them to access and update the submission. The e-mail also includes a Web site link with the code already embedded so they can easily access the submission. All edits must be completed by the deadline for submission, which is Monday, April 12, 2010.

Call for Abstracts
The 2010 UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held Saturday, May 15. In addition to attending the poster and oral presentations, presenters can enjoy dance and music performances and listen to the keynote speaker. To be a participant, complete the Presentation & Abstract Submission Form. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 12, 2009.
